Monlu Trading is a corporation duly organized and existing under
the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia with offices at Woodgate
Center , 5186 Cleveland Street , Virginia Beach , VA 23462 .
Unlike most of its competitors that engage in the collection and
shipping of care packages from Filipino Americans in the United
States to the Philippines , the company is engaged in both outward
and inward trade between the United States and the Philippines .
Besides shipping the care packages, commonly called "balikbayan"
boxes, the company also imports general merchandise from an established
company in the Philippines for sale to numerous stores that cater
to ethnic Filipinos.
Monlu opened for business in June 2000
and its two owners actively participate in the day to day operations
of the company. Presently, Monlu primarily operates along the
East Coast from Connecticut to Florida and including West Virginia
. Monlu now has over 100 agents in the aforementioned areas, many
of whom have had previous "Balikbayan" box forwarding experience.
